At Ronald Pratt Acupuncture, we practice Classical Five Element Acupuncture and Meridian Balance Method Acupuncture. These classical styles differ from more modern approaches. Each approach aims to treat the underlying imbalance behind symptoms rather than the symptoms themselves.
Five Element Acupuncture was brought to the West by Professor J. R. Worsley, who believed that most causes of physical, mental and spiritual distress reside within us, rather than due to external factors. When the root cause, clinically referred to as the causative factor, is discovered and treated, the symptoms signaling the imbalance disappear. Once this balance and harmony are restored, our bodies naturally return to a state of overall health and wellness.
Similarly Meridian Method Balance Acupuncture focuses on identifying meridian imbalances and utilizes the natural relationships between meridians to address the root cause of the symptoms.
Both of these approaches are combined with our patient centered approach to support each patient with their health and wellness goals.
