I understand how pain and dis-ease

can prevent you from living and I can help.

Meet Ronald Pratt, Acupuncturist
and Lifestyle Medicine Expert

Ronald’s Story

In my own life, I went through a period of time where work stress was causing a lot of dis-ease, digestive symptoms, insomnia and anxiety, along with basically running my life.

Before I became an Acupuncturist, I worked as a corporate trainer. Some of that role I absolutely enjoyed, especially empowering others to do well in work they loved. However, there was also a lot of stress. Along with that stress came the subsequent impact on my health and wellness.

To help with this I turned to Acupuncture. Through regular treatments, I found real transformation in my life. Not only was I able to manage my stress and overcome a number of health challenges, I gained the clarity to make choices consistent with who I am and what I wanted to accomplish.

Ultimately, this led me to study Acupuncture and become a healthcare provider. I wanted to share my passion and this approach to health and wellness.

Mission

Ronald Pratt in the Acupuncture Treatment Room

I’m on a mission to help you live your best life; Pain, Stress, Anxiety, and Chronic Illness running your life isn’t part of that.

I want to help as many people as possible move past pain; physical-mental-emotional; and get back to living.

Treatment Philosophy

In healthcare, there are many treatment modalities and practice models. All of them have merit. I offer a unique patient-centered approach, focusing solely on one patient at a time to assure treatment plans are specific, individualized and tailored to each patient; supporting them as they move past pain and illness and get back to living, authentically.

Acupuncture and Lifestyle Medicine are the cornerstones of my approach. Other modalities such as functional nutrition, herbal medicine and supplementation are integrated as appropriate to support patients as needed.

The first step in any treatment plan is an intake appointment. During this two-hour appointment, we will spend time getting to know you, your health concerns and your specific treatment goals. You may be asked a wide variety of questions regarding your symptoms, daily habits, health history and anything that may offer insight into your health. We will also conduct several types of examinations, including pulse diagnosis, range of motion tests and examination of physical pain sites, tender points or scars from old injuries. All of this information is critical in developing a comprehensive treatment plan.

Overall wellness is more than the absence of symptoms. It takes time and continued care to return to balanced health. At Ronald Pratt Acupuncture, we work with patients at a variety of points along their wellness journey and have identified three main stages of care: Acute Care, Maintenance Care, and Wellness and Preventative Care.

In the beginning and during acute phases, care will be more regular. As symptoms diminish, patients move to a maintenance program to encourage long-term healing. During this phase visits are less frequent. Depending on wellness goals, some patients utilize Acupuncture and Lifestyle Medicine as part of their regular care and others continue on as as needed basis. For ongoing wellness care, frequency of visits is determined based on a patient’s health and goals.

Along with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to health and Wellness, training in both Acupuncture and Counseling provide me a unique set of qualifications to treat pain stress, anxiety and chronic illness. I am board certified by the NCCAOM and hold a Master of Acupuncture degree and a Diploma in Chinese Herbal Studies along with Master of Arts in Counseling. With extensive post graduate training in Five Element Acupuncture, Meridian Balance Acupuncture and Natural Functional Nutrition, I continue to grow and cultivate my practitioner skill set to best serve patients.
